Just checking Blaxhall out before coming down with some friends to stay at the youth hostel this weekend! It looks lovely - and quite safe, considering it is "over the border" from here in Norfolk!! Seriously, I love it all round there - great scenery, good walking and good food!!

What a fantastic web-site. I remember visiting the Ship as a young lad throughout the seventies. We always used to go on summer holidays to Suffolk, staying at my Uncle Basils in Sproughton. I remember once, probably about 1973, we were all in the ship one summers night and I ended up playing the bongo drums. I expect it was to accompany the 'famous' folk singing that took place there. I keep saying that I will come and visit, and one day I will.

We had Carol Hornsby from Ohio visiting Denver so we did lunch at GB Fish and Chips. Carol brought her book on the village of Blaxhall and showed us all her family, some of which ran The Ship public house many years ago. We had some laughs too talking about what life was like in the village. My wife, a Ling from Snape, well we have been married 45 years. For a Yank, I didn't do half bad. Miss the countryside and Adnams ale. Ta ta for now. Ron
